The insidious self-saboteur in your subconscious struck again today (mean, mean saboteur!).
Yesterday I was humming along writing my blog posts, working on my opt-ins, and all was dandy. Then today, and out of nowhere, I felt myself get triggered with doubt, fear and unworthiness (enter groaning noise). I know this feeling all too well, as it USED to sneak in VERY frequently.
When would it sneak in? It would sneak in. After looking at all the amazing things other women are doing in their businesses (oh wow, I’m not doing THAT yet!). When I’m getting a new client (can I REALLY provide value for that fee?). It sneaks in when I’m about to hit the send button in posting a video (what will people think?!) and all sorts of crazy times.
Here’s the good news and the not-so-good news:
Good news: The brain can be ”rewired and reprogrammed” to believe new better thoughts (thank goodness!). And we can work so that our ‘triggers’ become less frequent and intense (Whew, that’s reassuring!).
The not-so-good news: If we don’t create and commit to a DAILY practice of working on the subconscious, we will continue to struggle, get triggered often, and not ultimately achieve what we have set out to achieve because our subconscious will prevent us from believing we can really do it. (scary, but true).
So, why did I get derailed today after humming along with my stuff yesterday; I DID NOT do my DAILY practices the last 2 days and the ‘old’ programming snuck in. Whoops!
Here are 3 quick and easy DAILY rituals to ‘reprogram’ the subconscious mind to believe what you want it to believe:
1. EVERY morning or evening (or both is best), take 5-10 minutes to sit and close your eyes.
Take 5-7 deep breaths.
Think of a time when you felt amazing, on top of the world, proud and get into FEELING that feeling for about a minute or two. Really FEEL it as though it’s happening again.
For example, one of my FEEL GREAT moments was being recognized as a top Realtor in my community (several years ago) and being featured in a local newspaper as a Super Real Estate Agent. I go into feeling how proud, confident and successful I felt.
Next, imagine what it is you want to see for yourself now. It could be accepting abundance and money, seeing yourself as a successful, confident business women with a certain amount of clients, a certain amount of money coming in every month.
Really FEEL what that would feel like. What would you be wearing, doing, being?
2. When you are ready open your eyes.
Say to yourself or out loud, “I’m so happy and grateful now that (insert whatever your desire is here)”
Mine is: “I’m so happy and grateful that I feel confident in running my business, and openly accept and receive the perfect clients and x amount of money per month.”
These mantras/affirmations can change, so say the one that resonates in the moment.
3. Schedule a time in your calendar every day or night (or both), to do your mindset work so you don’t miss a day of reprogramming your subconscious.
Please know that this is a VERY simplified exercise and there are many more things you can do to reprogram your mind, but this is a quick, easy and effective way to get started.
